What is a pipe bypass?

A pipe bypass in stretch ceilings is a special element used to neatly and securely route pipes through the ceiling fabric or PVC film. Its main purpose is to provide a sealed and aesthetically pleasing opening so that pipes can pass through the ceiling without damaging or deforming the material.

Why is a bypass for pipes in stretch ceilings important?

• The bypass prevents damage to the tension web when the pipe passes through.
• It hides any uneven or sharp edges of the pipe, making the hole look neat.
• The bypass ensures a tight fit, preventing dust, moisture and damage.
• Prevents the risk of cuts or damage from accidental contact.

Types of contours

• Flexible fittings  are soft, often made of rubber or silicone, and are ideal for flexible pipes.
• Rigid fittings  made of plastic or metal are used for thicker or more rigid pipes.
• Adjustable ones  allow you to adjust the hole size to the pipe diameter.

How is the bypass installed?

1. Selecting the appropriate size  based on the pipe and hole diameter.
2. When preparing the hole, it is carefully cut or made in the ceiling.
3. The installation of the bypass is most often secured by gluing, snapping or special fasteners.
4. When passing a pipe through a bypass, the pipe is usually secured and the tightness of the fit is checked.
