What is a floating profile for a stretch ceiling?

A floating profile  is a special fastening element used in stretch ceiling systems that creates the effect of a “floating” ceiling. This term describes a design that allows the ceiling to appear to float or hover within the room, without being directly attached to the walls or requiring special installation techniques.
