What is electrical tape?

Electrical tape  is a special adhesive tape, usually vinyl or PVC-based, used for electrical insulation and securing wiring within a suspended ceiling structure. It is used for:

• Wire and cable insulation – prevents short circuits and protects against contact with metal or wet surfaces.
• Securing structural elements – sometimes electrical tape is used to temporarily secure mounting parts, cords, or lighting elements until final installation.
• Provides a neat appearance – hides wiring connections, making installation cleaner and safer.

When installing stretch ceilings, it’s important to use high-quality electrical tape that’s resistant to heat and ultraviolet radiation to ensure it doesn’t lose its properties over time.
